West Ham United defender Guy Demel has praised the team for their performance during Saturday's 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
The Hammers comfortably beat their London rivals in their final home game of the season to secure their survival in the top flight.
While admitting that it has been a "hard" campaign for the East London outfit, Demel is pleased that the side could send the supporters away happy.
"It's great for the team to give the fans a performance like that for the last game at home," Demel told the club's official website.
"It's really great, also the fact that we're now mathematically safe, so it's really good. It's a happy end to what has been a hard season, in which we've showed character."
West Ham play their final match of the season on Sunday when they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium.
