Wigan Athletic are reportedly keen to bring in Leicester City left-back Callum Elder on a permanent deal following his successful loan spell this term.
The 23-year-old, used on 27 occasions in the Latics' League One-winning campaign, is unlikely to be given a chance at his parent club next season.
According to the Daily Mail, Wigan boss Paul Cook is interested in negotiating with Leicester, who already have Ben Chilwell and Christian Fuchs in that defensive position.
Elder, now into the final year of his King Power Stadium contract, is also said to be wanted by some other unnamed second-tier sides.
As well as helping Athletic into the Championship, the former Australia Under-20s international also set up Will Grigg's winning goal in his loan club's famous FA Cup win against Manchester City.
