Wolfsburg playmaker Julian Draxler has insisted that his side picked up a "good result" from their trip to Gent this evening, despite the fact that they conceded two late goals.
A brace from Draxler and a further goal courtesy of Max Kruse within the opening 60 minutes put the Germans in command at the Ghelamco Arena.
However, the hosts scored twice in the final 10 minutes to give themselves a glimmer of hope ahead of the second leg in Germany next month.
"We played a very good game. The last two goals for Gent weren't so good, but we have all possibilities to go through to the next round," Draxler told UEFA's official website.
"It is a good result for us and if we play like that in the second leg we will go through."
Wolfsburg have never previously gone beyond the group stages of the Champions League.
