Sebastian Vettel admits that the recent deaths of Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli played heavy on his mind during the Indian Grand Prix.

World champion Sebastian has revealed that he has "mixed emotions" following his victory in India earlier today.

Despite securing his 11th win of the season, the 24-year-old admitted that the recent deaths of Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli were at the forefront of his mind.

"To be honest, I have mixed emotions because this is the first Indian Grand Prix but looking back at last weekend we lost two of our mates," Vettel told BBC Sport. "I didn't know Dan Wheldon but I got to know Marco Simoncelli this year and our thoughts are with them.

"Yes, we take great risks when we jump in the car and we hope nothing happens but you are reminded of these things, so our thoughts are with them."

The drivers now move on to Abu Dhabi for the next race.
