Two key individuals at Aston Martin's Formula 1 team seem to have given a significant indication of an upcoming major announcement.

Adrian Newey is currently phasing out his role at Red Bull and considering attractive proposals from competing teams regarding his future in the pitlane.

Recent updates indicate that Ferrari has turned down the 65-year-old engineer and celebrated car designer's structural demands, while Newey reportedly holds a substantial four-year, $100 million proposal from Aston Martin in his pocket.

Currently, Ferrari is operating without a technical director, with team leader Frederic Vasseur stepping in for the recently departed Enrico Cardile until a replacement is appointed.

Vasseur commented to Sky Italia following the Hungarian GP, "We will make an announcement about the new organisation after the summer break."

However, this forthcoming announcement likely doesn't involve Newey, particularly as Aston Martin ambassador Pedro de la Rosa provided a significant clue about the team's future in Hungary.

While promoting an upcoming DAZN program titled 'El Juego del tabu,' de la Rosa, who previously collaborated with Newey at McLaren, showed a photo of Newey to Aston Martin driver Alonso and remarked, "He's someone you're going to like ... you'd like him a lot."

Two-time champion Alonso, who is 42 and has openly shown his dissatisfaction with Aston Martin's recent performance, smiled broadly upon seeing Newey's photo.

After the Hungarian GP, where his former Alpine stablemate and now McLaren driver Oscar Piastri achieved his first victory, Alonso stated, "I'm very happy for Oscar, he deserves it. He's a fantastic kid and a great driver.

"McLaren has been the car to beat for a few races now," he added. "The shame is that, among so many different winners this year, we are not on that list. Not even close. We have to improve," he concluded.
