Graeme McDowell and Rory McIlroy have revealed that Jose Maria Olazabal gave the European Ryder Cup team the "hairdryer treatment" at last night's team meeting.
The visitors endured a disastrous afternoon session of four balls, losing 3-1 to trail 5-3 overnight.
Despite McIlroy comparing the talk to those of Sir Alex Ferguson, it did not garner much in the way of results this morning as Europe lost the foursomes session 3-1.
The Northern Irish duo won their opening match on day one, but have now lost their last two as a partnership and McDowell is expecting more stern words from his captain.
"We got a good telling off last night [from Olazabal]," McDowell told BBC Sport.
"It didn't work very well this morning. I think Jose's going to have to crank it up a little bit and start cracking the whip. We definitely got the hairdryer treatment last night."
McIlroy added: "It was a roasting last night. It was Sir Alex Ferguson stuff."
