Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson was pulled over by police officers while on his way to yesterday's Premier League match against Hull City.
The 21-year-old was stopped heading to the Emirates ahead of the Gunners' 2-0 victory over the Tigers.
Sgt. Richard Berns told The Mirror: "It's part of a Met-wide campaign to crack down on uninsured drivers. [Carl] had done nothing wrong whatsoever and we had checked hundreds of vehicles that day.
"He just happened to be one of them. A few of my colleagues are Arsenal fans, so it was great for them to meet him."
Sgt. Berns posted a photo on Twitter of the defender with two of his colleagues saying: "Just stopped Carl Jenkinson of @Arsenal. What a nice guy and fully insured!"
