Arsenal ease past Hull City

Arsenal beat Hull City 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to stay four points clear at the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal have registered a comfortable 2-0 home victory over Hull City in the Premier League.

The Gunners surged ahead at the Emirates Stadium as early as the second minute when Nicklas Bendtner headed home Carl Jenkinson's cross from close range.

The hosts could have doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Per Mertesacker's header almost fell to Jenkinson at the near post, but Hull goalkeeper Allan McGregor made a good save at the last moment.

Minutes later Bendtner came close again when he found himself in a good position, but his effort went wide.

McGregor was called into action again after the half-hour mark when he was forced into a good save from Aaron Ramsey's long-range effort.

The Gunners doubled their advantage just two minutes into the second half through Mesut Ozil.

Nacho Monreal fed the ball to Ramsey, who then found the German playmaker inside the Hull box to slide home with ease.

Arsene Wenger's side dominated proceedings throughout the second half at the Emirates but failed to add to their tally.
