The Emirates Stadium - home of Premier League giants Arsenal - was reportedly subject to a security alert on Tuesday, with police called to the ground in the early afternoon.

Arsenal were in action at their home ground on Sunday - losing 2-0 to reigning champions Manchester City in the opening weekend of the 2018-19 campaign.

According to The Mirror, police were called to the Emirates on Tuesday afternoon after a 'suspicious package' was found, with a 'partial evacuation' of the ground and surrounding area taking place.

However, the same report claims that the incident was quickly dealt with by police, and those living in the surrounding area have since been informed that the situation has been resolved.

Arsenal, who are not back in action on home soil until August 25 against West Ham United, are yet to comment on the situation.
