Leeds United director Salem Patel has reportedly called for the club to ban the consumption of alcohol around Elland Road.

The head of investment management at GFH Capital is believed to have expressed his concern following the club's 2-1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion.

It is understood that Patel is eager to enforce this rule due to his Muslim beliefs, but other board members at the club are against his proposal, according to the Daily Mail.

Leeds owners GFH are a Dubai-based subsidiary of a Bahraini Islamic investment bank.
