Angry fans 'alter Wikipedia page of Manchester United chief Ed Woodward'

Angry supporters reportedly alter the Wikipedia page of Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward following the close of the transfer window.

Angry supporters have reportedly targeted the Wikipedia page of Manchester United chief executive Ed Woodward following the club's lacklustre summer transfer window.

The Premier League champions made their major signing of the window by securing the signature of midfielder Marouane Fellaini from Everton on deadline day.

The £27m move was completed following a summer of unsuccessful bids for Barcelona star Cesc Fabregas, Everton full-back Leighton Baines, Athletic Bilbao's Ander Herrera and Real Madrid's Fabio Coentrao.

Instead of targeting manager David Moyes, a number of fans altered Woodward's Wikipedia page by describing him as a "gimp" and claiming that he is "totally out of his depth", according to 101greatgoals.com.

The businessman was also criticised heavily on social networking website Twitter, but the alleged changes on Wikipedia have since been deleted.
