Boxing legend Roy Jones Jnr has revealed that he is planning to run for mayor in his hometown of Pensacola, Florida.
The 45-year-old has claimed that he has received 10 times the number of signatures that he needs to become eligible for the next election.
If he is successful, the sportsman is hoping to become a leader for the local children. He told TMZ: "A lot of kids don't have proper leadership at home. I'm willing to try and be that person for them.
"I tell the kids, don't fight in the streets. Go into MMA, go into boxing. Do something that someone can be proud of you for. I've been opposed my whole life and I've always won."
Jones made a name for himself in the boxing world in 2003 when he became the first middleweight champion to win a heavyweight title in 106 years.
