Dietmar Hamann and Joey Barton have been involved in a bitter spat with each other on Twitter.
The war of words between the duo on Monday started when Barton, currently on loan at Marseille from Queens Park Rangers, suggested that Newcastle United's managing director Derek Llambias is the reason why Loic Remy has decided to join QPR and not the Magpies.
Barton's tweet led to Hamann, who played alongside the 30-year-old at Manchester City during the 2006-07 season, asking him not to get involved in "club politics".
The former Newcastle midfielder was quick to respond and the pair exchanged over 50 messages on Twitter during which Barton referred to Hamann's gambling problems and urged him to get his "life in order".
