Hollywood actor Mark Wahlberg has reportedly held discussions with NBA star Caron Butler about producing a film about the sportsman's life.

The biopic would be based on Butler's new book Tuff Juice, which details how the Sacramento Kings player grew up dealing drugs, but managed to turn his life around.

Wahlberg has publicly backed the book on social media, and according to TMZ, Butler said: "[A film is] a possibility. I've spent some time with Mark Wahlberg. He loved my story."

The American actor has already worked on sports-based projects including The Fighter and HBO series Ballers.
