Emmanuel Adebayor denies kicking his mother out of home due to witchcraft

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor denies claims that he has kicked his mother out of his house in Africa.

Tottenham Hotspur striker Emmanuel Adebayor has rejected claims that he has booted his mother out of his house in Africa because he thought that she was practicing witchcraft.

The Togolese forward, who is rumoured to be earning around £100,000 a week at Spurs, has also been accused by his sister Maggie of refusing to give his mother money.

However, Adebayor has commented on the claims by telling people to "stop talking" and to refrain from doing Juju, which is a West African term used for spells, on him.

The footballer told Ghanian radio station Peace FM: "I never sacked my mum from the house. She decided to leave the house.

"How am I going to be in touch with my mum if my mum is the one telling everyone that my work will not go forward, so I will just be on my side and do my thing. They should stop talking, they should stop doing Juju on me, they should leave me alone."

Reports have claimed that Adebayor's mother has been forced to sell a number of items, including polythene bags and padlocks, to earn money.
