US officials 'warn of terror threat' at Sochi Games

United States officials continue to warn their Russian counterparts of possible explosive materials being stored in toothpaste, according to a report.

Russian officials are still being warned about possible explosive materials being stored in toothpaste or other creams, according to a report.

Fears of terror threats had overshadowed much of the build-up to the Games, while the latest claims regarding the safety of those in Sochi had initially been played down by the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

However, a report on Examiner.com suggests that US officials are still continuing to asses the scope and credibility of the latest threats.

The online publication goes on to state that Team USA athletes have been warned not to wear their Olympic outfits outside of the Games while in Russia.
