Referee Anthony Taylor's car attacked by West Ham United fan?

A West Ham United fan reportedly attacked referee Anthony Taylor's car while he drove out of Upton Park on Sunday.

Referee Anthony Taylor was reportedly targeted by a West Ham United supporter while he was driving out of Upton Park following the defeat to Liverpool on Sunday.

The match official faced hoards of criticism after overruling the linesman to allow a West Ham goal, despite a foul on goalkeeper Simon Mignolet by Andy Carroll.

Taylor also awarded a dubious penalty to Liverpool, which resulted in the Merseyside outfit clinching a 2-1 victory on away turf.

According to West Ham fan site Claret&Hugh, an eyewitness has claimed that one supporter punched the windscreen of Taylor's car while he was trying to drive out of the ground, while groups of Hammers fans shouted and swore at the referee as he left.

West Ham manager Sam Allardyce questioned the "quality" of referees in the top flight following Taylor's performance.
