Shaun Wane: Wigan Warriors want Super League Grand Final win "really badly"

Wigan Warriors head coach Shaun Wane insists that his players "really badly" want to beat St Helens in the Super League Grand Final.

Shaun Wane has admitted that his Wigan Warriors players head into the Super League Grand Final "really badly" wanting to beat local rivals St Helens.

The defending champions needed a late try in their semi-final last weekend to set up a meeting with the Saints, who finished the season at the top of the table.

The head coach told BBC Sport: "There's a healthy hatred there between the clubs. I respect what St Helens are all about but my players are coming here really badly wanting to win.

"It doesn't come any bigger. Playing St Helens in Super League is big, playing in the Grand Final is big, when you put them together it's a huge occasion.

"I want to win it more than I did last year. This game is special. They show and tell us how much they hate us, and that's the way it is. The game is the biggest game in rugby league. I've played in Leeds-Bradford derbies and this is the main one."

The Grand Final takes place at Old Trafford this evening.
