Challenge Cup roundup: Gloucester, Worcester Warriors and London Irish win

Gloucester, London Irish and Worcester Warriors all end the pool stages of the Challenge Cup with wins.

The three Aviva Premiership sides involved in the 3pm kickoffs in the Challenge Cup this afternoon have all come away with wins.

Spanish side Gernika pushed Worcester Warriors in the opening 20 minutes of their game, before being reduced to 14 men, allowing the hosts to score three quick tries before half time.

Warriors went on to score a total of 11 tries, with Josh Drauniniu, Nikki Walker and Errie Claassens all scoring twice.

Gloucester and Mont-de-Marsan were level at the end of the first half, but a solid second half from the English side ensured that the visitors were unable to add to their score.

Henry Trinder was impressive for Gloucester after the break, scoring twice in four minutes.

A Steven Shingler penalty in the 40th minute was all that separated London Irish and Bordeaux Begles at the end of their first half.

The Exiles extended their lead through a Marland Yarde try - the only score in the second half - to seal the win for the home side.

Results in full: Gloucester 36-16 Mont de Marsan, London Irish 17-7 Bordeaux Begles, Worcester Warriors 71-19 Gernika
