Mark Anscombe delighted with 'battling' Ulster

Ulster coach Mark Anscombe is delighted with his side's battling performance as they beat Glasgow Warriors 19-8 in the Heineken Cup.

Ulster head coach Mark Anscombe has praised his side's battling spirit following Friday's 19-8 win over Glasgow Warriors in the Heineken Cup.

The Belfast-based club made it two wins from two in Pool 4 as Paddy Jackson kicked over 14 of his side's points in Scotland.

"We showed a lot of character out there, the boys battled their way through tough conditions against a very good team," Anscombe told Sky Sports News. "You have got to be able to work through things because the game of rugby doesn't always go the way you want it.

"If you don't have that character and attitude to hang in there and battle through the tough times, you won't come out the right end.

"We have done that a few times this year, and shown there is a bit of character there. That's a good benchmark to build a good team from."

Next up for Ulster in the competition is a trip to Northampton Saints on December 7.
