Australia's Leiston Pickett wins women's 50m breaststroke

Leiston Pickett wins gold for Australia in the 50m women's breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games while Scotland's Corrie Scott picks up a bronze medal.

Australia's Leiston Pickett has won the gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in the women's 50m breaststroke.

The 22-year-old won the race with a time of 30.59s to claim the title in the Tollcross Swimming Centre.

Jamaica's Alia Atkinson won the silver medal, while Scotland's Corrie Scott claimed the bronze medal with a time of 30.75s.

England's Sophie Taylor finished just outside the medal positions in fourth place, and Scotland duo Kathryn Johnstone and Andrea Strachan finished in sixth and eighth place respectively.
