Novak Djokovic beats Andy Murray in Miami final

Novak Djokovic defends his Miami Masters title with a 6-1 7-6 victory over Andy Murray.

Novak Djokovic has won the Sony Ericsson Open with a straight-sets 6-1 7-6 win over Andy Murray in Miami.

Both players traded service games during the early exchanges, although Murray was made to work particularly hard by the world number one to hold.

Djokovic served out to take a 2-1 lead, before breaking Murray for the first time to open up a 3-1 advantage.

From there, world number four Murray failed to win another game as he slumped to a 6-1 loss in the opening set.

Murray produced a more competitive showing in the second set, despite having to save numerous break points while serving.

He battled hard in the 11th game as the pair went back and forth on deuce but eventually held serve after saving two more break points.

It was then Djokovic's turn to come under pressure, but the Serbian showed the resiliency that has seen him win five Grand Slam titles by holding to force a tiebreak.

The Serbian took the first two points but Murray produced some stubborn tennis, including a brilliant drop shot to make the score 5-4.

However Djokovic reeled off consecutive points on serve to defend his title and become just the third man in history to win three Miami Masters.
