Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has made it through to the third round of the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, Florida, with a straight-sets victory over Xavier Malisse.

Things started badly for the world number six as he lost his first service game to the versatile Malisse. However, he soon recovered as he broke the Belgian twice on his way to taking the set 7-5.

The Frenchman didn't have it all his own way in the second as he was broken after taking a break of serve from the world number 75.

As the set looked like it was going to a tie-break, Tsonga found a decisive second break to claim the set 7-5 and win the match.
