Mardy Fish has secured his spot in the second round of Wimbledon with a comfortable 7-6 7-5 7-6 victory over Ruben Ramirez-Hidalgo.
The first set remained on serve, but it was the American who claimed the tie-break to move one set ahead in the match.
Both continued to serve well in the second, and it took just a singular break of serve from Fish, at 5-5, to allow him to serve for a two-sets-to-nil lead.
Hidalgo lost his opening service game of the third, as did Fish, as the match headed for its second tie-break – with Mardy securing the three-set win.
