Team GB shooter Ciaran James has praised the support of the home crowd following his side's emphatic defeat to Romania.
While empty seats were making headlines at the swimming heats, the Water Polo Arena was packed full to watch Britain's men begin their first Olympic campaign since 1956.
GB, who are the youngest side in the men's draw and began the tournament as 5000-1 outsiders with Sportingbet, lost the game 13-4.
James, 21, tweeted: "Thanks for all your messages and support today. Amazing home crowd! #believe.
"The home crowd did the county proud. Gutted about the loss but nothing can match that feeling."
Cristian Iordache's men now face Serbia on Tuesday evening.
