GB's Katie Summerhayes grabs silver in Freestyle World Championships

Katie Summerhayes becomes the first British female skier to win a medal by claiming silver at the Freestyle World Championships in Austria.

Katie Summerhayes has got her hands on a silver medal following her performance in the ski slopestyle final at the Freestyle World Championships in Kreischberg, Austria.

The 19-year-old's spot on the podium means that she is the first British female skier to claim a medal at the tournament.

With 82.80 points, Summerhayes finished behind Germany's Lisa Zimmerman, who won gold, and ahead of Slovakia's Zuzana Stromkova, who snatched third place.

The teenager finished seventh at the Winter Olympics in Sochi last February, but went on to claim the world junior slopestyle title in April 2014.
