Borussia Dortmund are reportedly continuing to hold talks with Manchester United over a deal for Marcus Rashford which would see the attacker spend the second half of the campaign on loan at the club.
AC Milan's attention is currently in Manchester City's Kyle Walker, and the Italian outfit cannot sign both English players this month due to the post-Brexit rules in Serie A, which has seemingly seen them drop out of the race.
Dortmund's main competition appears to be coming from Barcelona, with the Catalan outfit thought to be Rashford's number one choice.
However, a switch to the La Liga giants is far from straightforward due to the club's financial issues, with room needing to be made in the budget, and as of yet, there is not thought to be an offer on the table.
BVB are therefore currently in a strong position when it comes to Rashford's future, and according to journalist Ben Jacobs, discussions are ongoing with Man United over the structure of a deal.
Jacobs claims that Dortmund are proposing a deal similar to the one that saw Jadon Sancho return to the club on loan from Man United for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

BVB 'continuing talks' with Man United over Rashford loan
Dortmund are believed to have paid €3.5m (£3m) with €4m (£3.4m) more in potential add-ons for Sancho, most of which were activated due to the club reaching the Champions League final.
A similar structure is likely to be accepted by Man United, but his wages remain a huge problem, with Rashford picking up in excess of £315,000 a week, which is way beyond the German club's budget.
Man United are believed to have accepted that they will need to cover a large part of the 27-year-old's salary, while it remains to be seen whether there is a future purchase option included in any agreement.
Rashford is still thought to be hopeful that Barcelona will submit an offer, but he runs the risk of missing out on a move to Dortmund if he is unable to give the German outfit a decision in the specified amount of time.

Is Rashford in the Man United squad against Brighton?
As expected, the forward has again been left out of the squad for Man United's Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.
Rashford has not played for the Red Devils for over a month, having underwhelmed in a series of training sessions, and the club's head coach Ruben Amorim is sending out a clear transfer message by continuing to leave him out of first-team squads.
