Levante, Rayo Vallecano ends goalless

Levante and Rayo Vallecano play out a goalless draw in their La Liga match.

Levante have had to settle for a 0-0 draw against Rayo Vallecano in La Liga.

The game was 10 minutes old when Ruben Rochina had the first chance, but his effort from the edge of the area was saved by Keilor Navas.

Joaquin Larrivey then crashed a shot against the post as Rayo came close to breaking the deadlock. Roberto Trashorras and Iago Falque also fired wide as the visitors produced the better football in the first half.

Navas was in action again soon, keeping out Trashorras's free kick, before Larrivey drilled a shot wide of the post.

David Barral had a rare chance for the hosts, but wasted it as he lifted his effort over the bar.

Both sides tried to find the winner in the second half, but the quality in the final third was poor.

Samuele Longo hit a weak shot straight at Navas, while Barral was denied by Ruben. Trashorras had one last effort from a free kick, but again Navas was there to make the save.
