Denver Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning has admitted that he may never get over the disappointment of losing last night's Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks.
The stage was set for Manning to cap off one of the greatest individual seasons in NFL history with his second Super Bowl ring, but he threw two interceptions in the first half as the Seahawks' defense dominated the Broncos' record-breaking offense.
The 37-year-old ended the match with 34 of 49 for 280 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions, and he admits that the defeat was a tough one to take.
"Certainly to finish this way is very disappointing. It's not an easy pill to swallow. I don't know if you ever really get over it," Manning told The AP.
Apart from the Super Bowl, Manning enjoyed a glittering campaign, throwing for a record 5,477 yards and 55 touchdowns on his way to a record fifth MVP award.
