Report: Houston Texans not expected to trade top pick

The Houston Texans are unlikely to trade their first overall pick in the NFL Draft, reports suggest.

The Houston Texans are expected to remain locked in on the first overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday night and are unlikely to make a trade.

Speculation has linked the franchise with selecting defensive end Jadeveon Clowney with their top pick, with many final mock Drafts seeing the former South Carolina prospect being the first man to be called up.

Despite Texans general manager Rick Smith hinting at the possibility of considering a trade, it is highly unlikely that they will make a deal, ESPN reports.

However, team sources have also suggested that if the Texans do decide to trade the pick, it probably won't happen until they are on the clock.
