Mike Shanahan plans to reintroduce star quarterback Robert Griffin III slowly into the first team.

Washington Redskins head coach Mike Shanahan has insisted that he will not rush quarterback Robert Griffin III back from injury.

Griffin said that he feels ready to resume full training, but Shanahan plans to keep the QB's recovery slow despite his eagerness to play.

"We haven't [decided whether he will return to 11-on-11 training], but it's going to be day by day," Shanahan told NFL.com.

"Just like the next couple of days with our two-a-days, what we're going to add to what he's been doing is our walkthroughs, which today was about 30 minutes.

"So he got a chance to work with the team which is something he hasn't been doing, looked like he did a good job."

RG III threw for 3,200 yards and 20 touchdowns in his rookie season in the NFL.
