The World Anti-Doping Agency has announced that it will appeal to the Court of Arbitration regarding Great Britain's ruling that bans any athlete found guilty of taking drugs from competing in the Olympic Games.
Britain are the only country to have implemented that rule, which means sprinter Dwain Chambers, who took performance-enhancing drugs in 2003, will not be able to compete in London next year.
Montreal-based WADA believes that Britain's stance is not fair on athletes and has called for the punishment to be lessened.
WADA's decision to lodge an appeal has come after US sprinter LaShawn Merritt successfully overturned a suspension last month.
