Barry Hearn warns against David Haye, Dereck Chisora bout

Barry Hearn says that promoters should be discouraged from promoting a bout between David Haye and Dereck Chisora following their brawl in Munich.

Boxing promoter Barry Hearn hopes that the British Boxing Board of Control will not allow a fight between David Haye and Dereck Chisora to take place in England.

It has been rumoured that a clash is due to be announced on Tuesday after Frank Warren revealed that both fighters have agreed to a contest.

Hearn, who runs Matchroom Sport, said that promoters should be actively discouraged from getting involved in such a bout following their antics in Munich.

The pair were accused of bringing the sport into disrepute for their brawl during Chisora's post-fight press conference after his defeat to Vitali Klitschko in February.

"The ruling should go out to the promoters that should they get involved in that fight they will no longer be allowed to operate within the rules of the British Boxing Board of Control," said Hearn.

"We really can't encourage and condone the behaviour of those two fighters by allowing them to come to England and make a lot of money. I'm looking to the British Boxing Board of Control to exercise the authority they have."

The potential clash will likely depend on whether Chisora wins his appeal against his ban.
