AC Milan have completed the signing of Italy Under-21 defender Alessio Romagnoli from Serie A rivals Roma.
The 20-year-old has joined the Rossoneri for a transfer fee of €25m (£17.7m) in a five-year deal that will see him link up with his former manager Sinisa Mihajlovic, whom he played under during a loan spell at Sampdoria last season.
"This is the most successful and best club in the world," Romagnoli told reporters. "Now I have to think about myself and doing well on the pitch. I'll try to give my all, everyone at Milan is quality. I have to be calm and try to do my best.
"The coach told me if there was a chance he'd take me with him. I spoke with my agent and [Roma sporting director Walter] Sabatini and we managed to get the deal done."
Romagnoli has joined midfielder Andrea Bertolacci in swapping Roma for Milan this summer.
