Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has congratulated Olivier Giroud after the striker netted his 100th goal for the club in the 4-2 win over BATE Borisov.
The France international, who was close to leaving the Gunners in the summer, found the net through a 49th-minute penalty during the Europa League tie on Thursday night.
Wenger was quick to hail Giroud at full time after seeing the 30-year-old join the likes of Thierry Henry, Ian Wright and Cliff Bastin in reaching the landmark figure in an Arsenal shirt, five years after joining from Montpellier.
"I just congratulated him for his remarkable achievement," he told reporters. "He is in good company, when you look at the number of goals he's scored. It's a remarkable achievement."
Theo Walcott netted twice for Arsenal in Belarus, while Rob Holding was also on target to help his side remain top of the Group H standings after two games.
