Manchester City full-back Kyle Walker is reportedly a serious doubt for Sunday's crucial Premier League meeting with Arsenal.

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is reportedly a serious doubt for Sunday's Premier League title clash with Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium.

The right-back picked up a hamstring injury in England's 1-0 defeat to Brazil in Saturday's friendly at Wembley.

Walker was forced off in the 20th minute and subsequently withdrew from Gareth Southgate's squad ahead of Tuesday's 2-2 draw with Belgium.

The 33-year-old took to social media to comment on his fitness status, stating that he hoped it was "nothing too serious".

A recent report claimed that Man City were confident that Walker would make a swift recovery and be available for selection this weekend.

However, according to the Daily Mail, the England international remains a major doubt due to the hamstring issue in his left leg.

The report claims that Walker is set to undergo a scan to help determine his availability for Sunday's crucial meeting with the league leaders.

Pep Guardiola will be desperate to receive some positive news, having started Walker in 25 of Man City's 28 Premier League matches this season.

The Man City boss is also sweating over the fitness of Walker's England teammate John Stones, who limped off in the 10th minute of Tuesday's friendly.

To add to Guardiola's selection dilemma, defender Manuel Akanji was forced to withdraw from the Switzerland squad, while Matheus Nunes picked up an issue during his time away with Portugal.

Kevin De Bruyne and Jack Grealish will hope to return in time for the weekend after spending the international break working on their respective injury recoveries.

The Citizens will also have to assess their first-choice goalkeeper Ederson, who suffered a thigh injury in a 1-1 draw against title rivals Liverpool earlier this month.

Man City are currently sitting in third position in the Premier League table, with a point separating them from both Liverpool and Arsenal.
