Samir Nasri in tunnel bust-up

Samir Nasri clashes with Emmanuel Frimpong after Manchester City knock Arsenal out of the Carling Cup.

Samir Nasri was reportedly involved in a tunnel bust-up after Manchester City's 1-0 Carling Cup victory over Arsenal last night.

The former Arsenal star was involved in a war of words with Gunners midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong after the match, according to The Sun.

"Words were exchanged and that was that," the paper quotes an Arsenal spokesman as saying.

"No punches were thrown but there was a lot of noise. Samir was speaking in French but they did not touch. It was handbags."

Nasri received a hostile welcome at the Emirates due to his £24m switch to City in August.

"I played him to spare him a hostile reception when we play here in the Premier League," said City boss Roberto Mancini.

"I think Nasri can play better than he did tonight, he's a top player. But this was the first time he came back to Arsenal and maybe he was nervous.

"It was not easy for him coming back here."

Manchester City's semi-final opponents will be decided in a draw after Manchester United's quarter-final with Crystal Palace tonight (Wednesday).
