Mikel Arteta reportedly has no plans to leave his position as Arsenal boss amid speculation linking him with Barcelona.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta reportedly has no plans to leave Arsenal amid speculation over a summer departure.

There have been a couple of major managerial announcements over the last few days, beginning with Jurgen Klopp's decision to leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

Barcelona head coach Xavi then announced his intention to part ways with the club when his contract expires at the end of June.

The 44-year-old, who guided Barcelona to the league title last season, informed the media of his decision following Sunday's 5-3 defeat to Villarreal, which left them in fourth position and 11 points adrift of top spot.

Xavi's impending departure has led to several names being linked with the Barcelona hot seat, including the current Arsenal manager.

According to SPORT, Arteta has told his entourage that he may decide to leave Arsenal following the conclusion of the current campaign.

The report suggests that Arteta's positive relationship with the Arsenal hierarchy could give him the chance to depart on good terms.

While the Catalan giants have made no effort to contact Arteta, the club's president Joan Laporta is said to be a huge admirer of the former Barcelona academy player.

However, Sky Sports News are reporting that Arteta has no intention of leaving his position at the end of the 2023-24 season.

The Arsenal boss is seemingly keen to stay in North London until at least June 2025 when his current contract expires.

Arteta has spent just over five years at the Emirates Stadium after being appointed as Unai Emery's successor in December 2019.

The 41-year-old has won an FA Cup trophy and two Community Shields, while he also guided his side to a second-placed finish in the Premier League last season.

Although they have been eliminated from both domestic cup competitions, Arsenal still have the chance to win two major trophies this season.

The Gunners are currently in third place and five points adrift of Premier League leaders Liverpool, while they are set to face Porto in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Following a 10-day break, Arteta will hope that his Arsenal team can claim all three points when they face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Tuesday.
