Mikel Arteta 'did not speak to Arsenal players after Burnley defeat'

Manager Mikel Arteta allegedly opted against talking with the Arsenal squad after Sunday's defeat against Burnley.

Mikel Arteta reportedly decided against speaking with his Arsenal players after Sunday's defeat at home to Burnley.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang put through his own net as the Gunners succumbed to a 1-0 defeat in a game which also saw Granit Xhaka handed a red card.

The latest reverse at the Emirates Stadium kept the club in 15th spot in the Premier League standings, subsequently increasing the pressure on Arteta.

According to The Athletic, the Spaniard waited until the following day before holding a debrief on the latest below-par performance.

The report suggests that it is just one of a number of recent developments in the dressing room, with some of Arteta's decisions said to be dividing opinion.

Arsenal have won just four of their 13 top-flight games this season, a period which has also included seven defeats.
