Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has claimed that the team are on the right path for Premier League title glory.
Arsene Wenger's side moved to the top of the table with a 2-0 win over Bournemouth at the Emirates on Monday night.
The Gunners are just one point above Leicester City, while their North London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are four points behind in third, level with fourth-placed Manchester City.
"We're in a strong position now, it's where we would like to be," Oxlade-Chamberlain told Arsenal Player. "There have been some hiccups along the way and I'm sure there will be a few more but we need to build on this half of the season and go into the New Year positively and in the right manner.
"We'll hopefully get some injured players back soon and that will boost us again, but the boys have been really good so far. We need to keep that going and today was a good step and a good way to end the year."
Arsenal's next game is at home against Newcastle United on January 2.
