Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic has claimed that a victory in today's Community Shield would give his side the "psychological" edge on opponents Arsenal.
The Blues are the defending Premier League champions heading into the 2015-16 campaign, but having signed experienced goalkeeper Petr Cech from their West London counterparts, the Gunners have also been tipped to challenge for the title.
With that in mind, Ivanovic has conceded that a win at Wembley this afternoon could end up being a crucial result in the long run.
"The game won't decide anything in terms of the season itself, but it is important to win because it's at the start of the season and can provide a psychological moment for the rest of the year. It is good to start with a trophy," the Serbian told the club's official website.
Chelsea have not lost any of their last eight meetings with Arsenal, five of which they have won.
