Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere could be ruled out of action until the middle of September as he recovers from an ankle injury.
The 20-year-old was sidelined for the whole of last season after suffering the problem in pre-season.
He is now expected to return in around 12 weeks following surgery on both his ankle and his knee, according to The Mirror.
Wilshere last played a competitive match over a year ago in a Euro 2012 qualifier for England against Switzerland.
