Burnley's Stephen Ward hoping for Arsenal "upset"

Burnley defender Stephen Ward refuses to rule out the chances of his side claiming a positive result at Arsenal.

Burnley full-back Stephen Ward is hopeful that his side can "cause an upset" at Arsenal next weekend.

The Clarets are the only side in England's top four divisions to have not won a match this season, and they have also not recorded a victory against the Gunners in North London since 1974.

However, despite the odds being stacked against Sean Dyche's men, Ward has refused to rule out the possibility of a shock result.

"The games against the top five or six are very tough and going to Arsenal next week nobody will give us a chance," he told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph.

"There's always pressure to perform. We want to go out, give it a go, and hopefully cause an upset. You just never know in this league."

When the two sides last met at the Emirates Stadium in March 2010, hosting Arsenal ran out 3-1 winners.
