Barcelona are interested in signing 17-year-old Arsenal midfielder Charlie Patino, who is a fan of the Spanish club, according to a report.

Barcelona have set their sights on signing Arsenal youngster Charlie Patino, according to a report.

The 17-year-old has been involved in first team training with the Gunners in recent months after impressing in the academy set-up.

At the age of 14, Patino captained England Under-16s and featured for Arsenal Under-18s, drawing comparisons to Phil Foden.

According to The Mirror, the midfielder is on the radar of Barcelona but the Gunners have no intention of selling.

The report adds that Patino is a fan of Barca, having grown up watching the likes of Andres Iniesta and Xavi.

Furthermore, the report suggests that Mikel Arteta may include the teenager in his matchday squad for the EFL Cup tie against AFC Wimbledon next week.

The Gunners could name a young side against the Dons after thrashing West Bromwich Albion 6-0 in the previous round.
