Bordeaux: 'No Marouane Chamakh return'

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud denies that Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh will rejoin the club.

Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud has dismissed speculation that Arsenal striker Marouane Chamakh could return to the club this summer.

The 28-year-old has endured a difficult two seasons in England, and it had been suggested that he could rejoin his former club before the start of next season.

"It is not worth making things up. I tried to contact him six months ago when the transfer window was open," Triaud told Sport 10.

"Since I crossed paths with him at the Parc des Princes, he was able to tell me he was very happy in London, loved Arsenal and was fine where he was. We're talking about things which do not exist."

It is understood that wage demands have scuppered any potential move.
