Cedric Soares reportedly has no plans to leave Arsenal this summer despite links with both Newcastle United and Porto.

Arsenal defender Cedric Soares reportedly has no plans to leave the club this summer.

The Portugal international was benched by Takehiro Tomiyasu during the first half of the season but has been a regular starter for Mikel Arteta's Champions League-chasing side during his teammate's absence.

However, with Arsenal potentially seeking out a new right-back in the summer transfer window, Cedric has been linked with an exit amid reported interest from Newcastle United and Porto.

The 30-year-old could stay at the Emirates for a little while longer, though, as according to Arsenal's Goal correspondent Charles Watts, rumours of bids from the Magpies or the Portuguese giants have been disregarded as 'speculation' by those close to the former Southampton man.

Watts adds that Cedric intends to stay and fight for his spot in the Gunners' setup, with his deal not due to expire until 2024 and Hector Bellerin likely to complete a permanent move to Real Betis.

Cedric has registered one goal and four assists in 50 appearances for Arsenal so far and has started 10 of the Gunners' last 11 games in the Premier League.
