Marouane Chamakh has joined West Ham United on a six-month loan deal from Arsenal.
Chamakh had failed to secure a regular starting place at the Gunners since his free transfer from Bordeaux in 2010, scoring just eight Premier League goals for the club.
West Ham boss Sam Allardyce had previously confirmed that the club had enquired about the availability of the striker due to injuries and international absences leaving him with a shortage of attacking options at Upton Park.
However, Allardyce has acted quickly in confirming the deal, meaning that Chamakh could feature in the Hammers' Premier League match against Sunderland next Saturday.
The 28-year-old has not made a single appearance in the league for Arsenal this season, with his game time being limited to three League Cup ties and one Champions League match.
Overall, the Moroccan striker scored 14 goals in 67 appearances for the Gunners.
