Lyon director Vincent Ponsot confirms that the club will attempt to re-sign Alexandre Lacazette when his Arsenal deal expires in the summer.

Lyon director Vincent Ponsot has confirmed that the club have been in contact with former striker Alexandre Lacazette.

The ex-Gones man left the club to sign for Arsenal in the summer of 2017 and has now spent four and a half years in North London, registering 70 goals and 32 assists in 192 appearances for the club.

However, Lacazette is widely expected to leave in the summer having entered the last six months of his contract, and Ponsot has revealed that Les Gones will attempt to bring him back to Ligue 1 for the 2022-23 campaign.

"We've seen the maturity that he's acquired. We've always remained in contact with him. But bringing in big players is always complicated," Ponsot told the press, as quoted by GFFN.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has also confirmed that Les Gones have their eye on a reunion with the 30-year-old, saying: "We'll do our best to sign Alexandre Lacazette in June," as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

Lacazette has banked five goals and four assists in 22 appearances across all competitions this term, including five contributions in his last six Premier League games.
