Preview: Monaco vs. Lyon

Sports Mole previews the Ligue 1 encounter between Monaco and Lyon.

Monaco host Ligue 1 leaders Lyon on Sunday evening looking to extend their unbeaten record in all competitions to 12 games.

Leonardo Jardim's side began the French domestic season slowly, but after putting together a remarkable run of conceding just one goal in 11 games, they have every confidence in ending the campaign in the top four.

After adding their seventh clean sheet in a row against Lille last week, the 2013-14 runners-up are likely to be unchanged, with both Tiemoue Bakayoko and Geoffrey Kondogbia still on the sidelines with thigh problems.

Lyon, who hold a four-point advantage at the top of the standings, travel South with an impressive defensive record of their own after putting together five consecutive shutouts.

Les Gones possess a more formidable record in the final third though, with 10 goals coming in their last three matches on the road.

However, they have been dealt a blow with the news that striker Alexandre Lacazette will be missing for three weeks with a thigh injury picked up against Metz.

The Frenchman could be replaced by Maxwel Cornet, but Lindsay Rose and Clement Grenier remain absent with groin injuries.
