Roberto Di Matteo talks up Jack Grealish potential

Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo says that Jack Grealish has a future at Villa Park providing that the youngster applies himself.

Aston Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo has insisted that Jack Grealish has a future at Villa Park.

Grealish, 20, came through the academy at his hometown club and has made 45 first-team appearances since making his debut during the 2013-14 campaign.

A host of off-the-field problems have harmed the midfielder's development over the last 12 months, but Di Matteo has claimed that he will give the England Under-21 international every chance to make an impact.

"I think he is a talented boy and I think he has a future here. Let me work with him a little bit. Ultimately, it is always down to the person. But do I think there is a player there? Yes. But it is down to him as well," Di Matteo told reporters.

Grealish scored once in 21 Villa appearances last term.
